In my last blog post, we discussed the fundamentals of API and the use of Postman for API Building & Testing. This article aims to clear the fundamentals of using the platform & the API Fundamentals Student Expert Certificate.
We also took an event in our college regarding the same certification program, which is shared further after the certification description.

What are Postman API Fundamentals Student Expert certification?

Simply put, The Certification program aims to help students learn the fundamentals of API development and testing using Postman, a popular API development and testing tool.

The certification program consists of a series of online courses and assessment topics, such as Authorization, test scripts and Also exploring the Codegen Feature of Postman. Students who successfully complete the program and pass the certification exam will earn the title of "Postman API Fundamentals Student Expert" and receive a badge of "Postman API Fundamentals Student Expert".

Steps to complete the Certification Program

1. Sign up for the certification Program: First, you will need to sign up for the program on the Postman website. You will need to create an account if you don't already have one.

2. Complete the online courses: The program consists of several online courses that cover the fundamentals of API development and testing using Postman. You will need to complete all the courses and pass the assessments for each one.

3. Pass the SkillCheck: Finally, you will need to pass the certification exam, which covers the topics covered in the courses and your project. The SkillCheck is designed keeping in mind all the learnings and successfully teaches implementing those.

Once you have completed all the steps and passed the certification exam, you will receive your certificate of completion and the title of "Postman API Fundamentals Student Expert", with a shiny Badge (which you, of course! share in your achievements!)

How was our Event?

We took an event on 3rd March, on our campus of Sinhgad College Of Engineering.

Students of third & second years gave a great response by showing up for the event!
Our Speakers Kiran & Radhaiya did a great job of explaining the basics of API, Postman & the program, making it easy for students to understand the program and complete the certification.

We also had Games planned, which engaged the students and brought out laughter to our event.

The event officially ended at 4 but we had an enthusiastic crowd, dedicated to completing the certification, who shifted out from the venue but never shifting out from our memory due to their efforts.

We found a few students completing the certification after the event, (quite a proud moment for me, and the team, of course!) whom we were happy to assist to complete the certification.
